Irish cottage felt landscape embroidery

Montbretia Cottage is a miniature felt landscape with a traditional Irish farmhouse and fields of embroidered sheep and flowers. In the foreground is the orange Montbretia which flowers along the lanes and hedgerows in summer.

I appliqued felt shapes to the background, then embroidered the details and framed the scene in a 5 inch/13 cm wooden hoop, which I hand painted.

Each little landscape is made individually, and no two are exactly the same, but the Montbretia Cottage design will closely resemble these photos.
